The changing shape of Art's Relationship with Science

For those interested, I wrote an essay earlier in the year on how art and science have been linked in the past and how that relationship is being developed and expanded upon now. During my research, I came across two really good books published this year, 'Colliding Worlds- How Cutting Edge Science is Re-defining Contemporary Art' by Arthur Miller (no relation to Marilyn) and 'The Practice of Light' by Sean Cubitt. Both well-worth reading. My essay can be found here and the bibliography here.

TAAG Teignmouth 24th-30th October

I'm currently working on a new piece of work for an exhibition coming up in Teignmouth soon. Organised by Steve Brown, a third year Fine Art student at Plymouth College of Art, this exhibition looks at the value of art with a political message. I've planned a piece which is a continuation of the work I did on the WWII aerodromes of the Blackdown Hills. It will explore the meaning of patriotism  and how malleable loyalties are under varying political, economic and social circumstances.
